In September 2012 outline planning permission was granted for a comprehensive mixed use development within Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
The development, known as the Legacy Communities Scheme, comprises 6,870 new homes, new social infrastructure including schools, health centres, community facilities and play space, as well as commercial and training opportunities.
During consultation on the Legacy Communities Scheme, the need for family homes was repeatedly raised by local people.
Chobham Manor, the first neighbourhood of the Legacy Communities Scheme, recognises this and the proposals include 75 per cent of properties with three or more bedrooms.
To have so many family-size homes in a new development in the Capital is incredibly rare, and this was achieved in part thanks to the valuable feedback from local people.
